How to Sign Up for Developer Accounts
Mobile apps must reside on an account of the organization that owns the brand. Therefore, you will need to sign up for developer accounts for your organization. You can find step-by-step instructions in the articles below.
Step 1: Obtain a D-U-N-S Number
- What is a D-U-N-S Number?
- A D-U-N-S Number is a unique identifier for businesses, required by Apple and Google Play to verify your organization.
- Check if You Already Have One:
- Visit the D&B D-U-N-S Number lookup to see if your organization already has a number.
- Request a D-U-N-S Number:
- If you don't have one, you can request it through this link. The process is free and typically takes a few business days.
Step 2: Set up and verify your developer accounts
When naming your account, it's important to give it a name that resonates with your brand and your event. Apple may also request legal documentation demonstrating that the account owns the rights to the event that the app is for to prevent intellectual property violations. Please be prepared to provide this, particularly in the event your account name is different from your app name.
Please note, it may take Apple and Google 2-3 weeks to approve your organization for a developer account. Your accounts must be set up and verified in order for your app to be submitted to the app store for review. Please account for this in your timeline.

Step 3: Share your Privacy Policy
Google Play requires that we submit a privacy policy with your app. The policy must be "available on an active, publicly accessible and non-geofenced URL (no PDFs) and is non-editable." They also ask that it "applies to your app, and specifically covers user privacy." This guide from Google Play provides more information on their privacy policy requirements.
If you need some guidance regarding your policy, please feel free to consult our Aloompa privacy policy (Privacy Policy - Aloompa) and take any sections that are applicable to your app.
